Feedback after interview

I went for an interview 3 weeks ago, thought it went really really well but haven't heard a word from them since.

I was in my last job for 5 years so it's been a long time since I did an interview. I'd like to ask for feedback but not quite sure how to word it?

Or is it a bit desperate even asking for it?

No I don't think it's desperate to ask.
I've gone for an internal interview at work recently didn't get post and asked for feedback.
However no harm seeing where you could improve on.

Just be aware it's very hard for companies to give honest feedback on interviews these days. In many cases feedback could open the door to a legal challenge, and you'll get some very bland response instead.

Recruitment processes can take quite a long time these days, in my experience in any case.

Positions can sometimes be advertised and recruited for without advance approvals which may delay any processes towards the end.

After 3 weeks I think it's totally reasonable to follow up.

    Good luck with it.

I work in recruitment (no haters please :), so I think an email along the lines of

    Dear NAME

As you may recall I met with you on the DATE HERE, I enjoyed meeting with you and this meeting heightened my interest in working with COMPANY NAME HERE. As I haven't heard back since our meeting I thought I'd reach out both to express my gratitude for your time and also to see if there was any news on whether I have been shortlisted for a second interview by chance?

I appreciate that you get many applications in the current climate, so I understand if the recruitment process has yet to end.

    Many thanks
    ME
