I have 10,000 euro to invest. Where is the best place to invest for the highest interest rate?

Have a look at itsyourmoney.ie for help on what rates are available.

    Thanks for that.

Do all investment brokers i.e. Davy, Merrion, etc, etc, all charge the same commission (1.5p.c. for first 12,500 euro and 0.5p.c. thereafter) when cashing in shares or do rates vary widely? The shares are employee shares I have with my employer. Do you know who charges the least commission? Thanks.

Brokers generally charge variable commissions and fees.

For the cheapest route try online brokers such as TDwaterhouse, Saxobank etc etc. If focusing just on US stocks try the US online brokers such as E-trade etc. US brokers are also great for buying shares in the East (Hong Kong, Japan etc).

For a phone broker try Redmayne Bentley in Cork as they are/were the best cost phone broker. You can chat with the guys when placing large orders etc. There's no annual account fee. Tell them that Marcel send you and they will look after you very well.

PS this is the second time that I have mentioned RB today but I have no reward of any type from refering the guys. I've know them for over a decade and have found them to be able and knowledgable. I would not refer anyone to anyone who I thought were sub-par.

Question - since you are after the highest interest rate where do you stand when it comes to risk?
