Several sources on the Internet are reporting that the HTC One with Windows Phone is scheduled for release, probably next month.

It seems to be the same hardware as the recently released HTC One (M8) that was released earlier this year.

In addition to the previously hinted-at presence of features from the Android-based One, like BoomSound speakers and the depth-sensing Duo camera, the One for Windows will also support voice over LTE -- Windows Phone users shouldn't have to wait long to try high-quality calls for themselves. It's not clear whether or not the device will ship with VoLTE out of the box, but Windows Phone 8.1's GDR1 revision (aka Update 1) should add support if it's not ready on launch. The release isn't far away

At the moment it seems like a Verizon exclusive in the US. I wonder when (if) it will come over here. OK, so there's about a 5-6 month difference between the release on Android and Windows Phone, but it's a new flagship standard phone coming to Windows Phone. Definitely a positive sign.

I wonder if next years 'One' will be simultaneous Android and Windows phone, now that the WP OS is ready for their hardware.

(Or will HTC use this as a way to extend the manufacturing / production of existing hardware by 6 months, as it will create new demand for the same kit)
