    Lose that psu.

I5 4690k better CPU 300. wait till it in stock.

Be quiet 600w 60 Euro. (a decent 500w will do that set of components )

Case ..nanoxia deep silence 1 , 6 Euro more. Better case. Same look. 89

    Use Geizhals.de

Is the overall mobo/CPU/Ram balance about right ?

I know it's so easy to have a top heavy system and a system is only as good as it's weakest component.

Lost track of CPU/MOBO combos a good few years back.

Also if anyone could recommend a midrange 27 inch monitor to suit that card i would be grateful. Was looking at something like http://www.lg.com/hk_en/support-product/lg-27MP55HQ-P or ASUS equivilant.

Well you are getting a k chip. You would be better off with the z97 board for overclocking. Like I said get the I5 4690k is better all-around.

I've been looking around at GPUs for my own build over the past few days, and it seems the R9 280 outperforms the GTX 760 in almost every instance. Might be something to think about. Went for an XFX R9 280 (seems to be the best 280 on the market) myself on aria.co.uk, 25 EUR cheaper too.

If he's rendering in AE the Nvidia cards will stand to him with that CUDA acceleration though

Drop the memory to 8GB, swop the PSU to coolermaster v850 and don't get that crucial M500, get a Samsung evo. Pm me if you want more detailed info

Why drop the memory ? To save money ?

PSU im not too pushed on tbh so any suggestions are welsome.

As to the graphics im set on Nvidia as i play 1-2 older games that only seem to work with it.

Keep the 16gb ram, youll really be glad of it for rendering. Basically agreed with the stuff SterlingArcher has said. :) And stick with nvidia, much better for Rendering with Cuda

did you get all these prices from germany? im considering doing a pc build with them as well, would you be better going for an i7 4770k instead of the i5?

i take you use some sort of bim programme for 3d work...
