    Bought one of these recently and want to record with it. Can I record off sky on it. I take it I need another HD cable , like the one on sky..

    This machine is a PVR and therefore can only record from its own internal tuner i.e. a terrestrial aerial input.
    What you need is a DVD recorder which you can connect to your Sky box via scart.

    No machine can copy over a HDMI cable, that is the purpose of HDMI.

    What is the best option to record off sky at the minute be it dvd or hard drive?
