Sending something abroad with a battery in it

I was planning to sell my old DSLR on eBay but am not sure what to do re. the battery in it. I know An Post won't accept items with batteries in them. Looking at the websites of some couriers it looks like I'm snookered there too. I suppose I'm looking for advice as to what to do next. I don't want to try and sell it without the battery if possible because I think it'll make the camera harder to sell online.

Before anyone suggests Adverts.ie or DoneDeal, I've considered those and only want to use them as a last resort. I don't want to be dealing with tyre kickers or having to go to the hassle of arranging to meet people. I just want to be able to package up the camera, hand it into a courier somewhere and be done with it. Is that too much to ask?

Depends on where you live and where your seller in.

If you are selling to some in Ireland, you might be able to use Parcel Motel.
If you are selling to some on the UK, and live near the border, you might be able to post it in a NI post office.

Actually, looking at the Parcel Motel site, they can organize a delivery to the UK, and no mention of batteries
