have a 1.4 TDI polo 69bhp 2002 reg, and after about 10 minutes driving the turbo isnt kicking in, if you restart the engine, it work fine again.

Any idea what the problem might be? The Turbo is kicking out the power ok and engine is left ticking over to cool it before turning off the engine.

    Thanks in advance for help!

Sounds like the variable vanes in the turbo are sticking on full boost. Are there any codes stored? Usually an overboost code is logged.

You need to get a diagnostic scan done to see if there are fault codes stored.
Where are you based? There are a few members on here with vcds, a vw diagnostic system.

A leak in one of the vacuum pipes maybe?

As neilw said you're best starting point is to get the ecu checked for fault codes and work from there. Temporary fixes are out there for sticking vanes but it rarely lasts long.
