Can you ever find new tracks or trails for your outdoor hobbies?

Im wondering Because i could never find and new tracks when i went mountain biking. Because of this, I am in the process of building a website from scratch which will be an archive of tracks/trails for outdoor hobbies worldwide.

My questions to you people are:

    1) Would you use it?
2)Have you ever seen or used anything like it?
3)Do you think it would be beneficial to you, if so in what way?

If you could suggest a good name or how the styling should be I would be very appreciative. All credit will be given where due!

Currently i have the back end built and just need to work on styling. The name I have so far is Track-finder, however that domain name has already been taken :(

Let me know what you think :)

There is something very suggestive about this thread. I would suggest moving it from AH to Outdoor Pursuits forum.

I'd be interested, I do dryland mushing (dog sledding without the snow) and its nearly impossible to find places to run the dogs.

Well basically how it would work is you or anyone who knows of tracks would submit it to the site and users could then search for their location and find tracks based on where they are!

I can already do that on the MapMyRide app, I can also search for cycle routes that other people have done near me. There's some Polish guy who lives 300m away from me and cycles around 150km a week. I can see his every route on the app so most of my own routes are a variation of what he does. Fair play to him he introduced me to a few parks and off road trails that I never knew existed and would probably never have found without using the app and his routes. It's kind funny that I've never met this guy.

Wasn't aware that app existed! Have you ever managed to find any website that does this?
