Does anyone have any idea what this would be worth? Only 1000 were made. I got it off Nintendo Ireland's media firm Cake directly back when the game was released.

Just found it this evening at my home. Had it in storage. It's in good condition. None of it was ever opened.

This seems to be the only sold one on eBay and went for just under a grand.

    http://www.ebay.fr/itm/271517696147

If you want to part with it I mean I could offer you 20 quid but that's the max.

Would EBay be the best place to sell it then?

Honestly, yes as you're selling to a bigger market and will get the value.

Seriously though that's an amazing piece in fantastic condition. Very nice. Did you manage to get anything else from back when you worked there?

I didn't work there. I used to review games for a few websites and I was given it by one of the staff there. I never opened it because I had a review copy of the game so didn't need to.

    Woah! Want want want!!

Don't sell it, ever. Just lock it away, and smile smugly at everyone you ever meet.

I'm not a collector so I've no interest in it. I haven't even a console at the minute. Had an Xbox 360 but sold it due to having no time to play it.

Gone are the days when I had a Dreamcast, PS2, N64 and Game Boy Advance!

You could still be smug, though.

    Especially towards collectors!

    :-D

Is EBay my only hope of a sale? I haven't sold anything there in years.

    What commission do they charge?

You could also sell on some specialized sites like here, assembler games, retrocollect or get in touch with the guy who runs gamesworldbodmin.co.uk. I know he likes rare/unusual stuff. But honestly eBay would be the way to go. I'd also do a bit more digging on some previous sold ones to get a more accurate value as if you're selling off eBay the potential buyer is going to know what it is and how much it's with so you don't want to be over or under valuing it.

I'm not sure on the fees as I've never sold on it but they should be all there on the site.

Aww man, super jealous. It's the kind of thing that I'd love to have, but could never afford!

My favourite Zelda game by quite some margin.

Incomplete. Looks like its worthless so.
I'll *ahem* take it off your hands for say 21, just so you get value over Atavan-Halens offer :pac:

I have to check that later. It could be in the back slip I'm thinking with the wallpaper.

The thing was barely ever opened and put into storage so I'd be very surprised if there's a piece missing.

As I said, I didn't even need to open the game and none of the CD, watch etc. were ever used.

    No offers to buy.
No making it available here to buy.
If you want to sell it put it in the Marketplace with a guide price.
Otherwise instruct interested parties here that offers are unwelcome.
This thread will be otherwise closed.

As stated above, no offers to buy here please. I am just getting info re a valuation folks.

Set is complete as I expected. Item missing in first photo was a sticker which I had placed under the t-shirt.

I knew whatever was missing would be there. The set literally hasn't been touched in 14 years since I got it.

That really is an amazing item, however I'd also be truly amazed if you found a buyer here in Ireland.

What you need to do is to put this up on ebay and advertise the hell out of it through forums. There's most definitely someone out there in the world willing to drop major coinage on this.

I'd be happy to get the €1000 and leave the trouble of maximising the profit to someone else.

My wife is off to New York in November for her birthday so just looking to give her an extra few pound going tbh.

I'd also prefer to keep it in Ireland. I haven't kept an item like this locked away for 14 years to stick it in the post and risk it getting ruined.

Never knew this existed, can't imagine there were many more in Ireland!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,255 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

Looks like this has sold for €750 lads. $1000 dollars which is the figure I had in mind.

Cake were based in London so it came from the UK to me. I don't know if they sent anymore to Ireland.
