    Best of luck with it.

I'm sceptical though, hope I'm wrong but just can't see how it will work logistically.

As long as there are one or more people on the island each week who want to run 5km there is no reason why this should not work out just fine. Take a look at the results from Summerfields parkrun in South Africa (boards.ie will not allow me to post links) Frequently the number of runners is in single digits and on a number of occasions there has been one runner.

Best of luck to the organisers of the Bere Island parkrun

Can't imagine big numbers either, but it sounds fantastic!

Definitely one for the wish list, nice weekend in West Cork with a nice scenic Parkrun thrown in.

Definitely one to try when nobody else running it. Got to bag that first race win some how... :)

31 runners the first week, and 20 the second. Of the 20 in the second week, 15 were first timers - so it looks like they'll be able to generate enough interest.

I went the first week and there were a good few tourists from England and Belfast taking part

Looks a peculiar part of the country I wouldn't mind visiting. Just wondering on the logistics end.

It's easy enough. You drive (or bus) to Castletownbere, then just take the ferry. Beautiful place.
