I have a 2006 316i 1.6 petrol, it's not starting. The engine is coming on and it's trying to start just not kicking in.

Spark plugs have been checked as has the fuel pumps.

Anyone any opinions and price guidance they could offer me.

Common fault on this engine is the crank shaft sensor will cause no start. Seen this numerous times on this engine the sensor fills up with out from the engine it's also possible to be a camshaft sensor same problem.

But one final thing it could be and is a cool on fault also is the timing chain slipping. I work in a bmw specialist garage so should u need any further info just ask

I am sure the repair is expensive but if the car had started it could have been a lot more.
