Have always been a colder weather person myself and never liked the heat. :)

I'm waiting patiently on the temp to fall to 19.5 so I can light a fire. :)

Ah FFS, day or two of rain and you'll be complaining about that as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 83 ✭✭murphydublin

I never complain about rain, im a winter girl and adore rain , dark evenings, comfort food etc. I want to go somewhere mountainous, remote and enjoy a day with the kids. Any spots in Dublin mountains i don't know of??

Irish people are fücking weird. One bit of good weather and some of you want that shïtty rain back that you get all year round usually.

Enjoy the sun. Take a walk, paddle in a river, have a barbecue, toast a ginger. Anything!

Just stop moaning, it's hardly tropical extremes, it's a lovely bit of sunshine you muppets!

Any excuse for a Eurythmics song:D

    Here comes the rain again
Falling on my head like a memory
Falling on my head like a new emotion
I want to walk in the open wind
I want to talk like lovers do
I want to dive into your ocean
    Is it raining with you

    So baby talk to me
    Like lovers do
    Walk with me
    Like lovers do
    Talk to me
    Like lovers do

    Here comes the rain again
Raining in my head like a tragedy
Tearing me apart like a new emotion
    Oh
I want to breathe in the open wind
I want to kiss like lovers do
I want to dive into your ocean
    Is it raining with you

    So baby talk to me
    Like lovers do

    Here comes the rain again
Falling on my head like a memory
Falling on my head like a new emotion
(Here is comes again, here it comes again)
I want to walk in the open wind
I want to talk like lovers do
I want dive into your ocean
    Is it raining with you

You'd have a job, I wouldn't live in Ireland again if you bloody paid me.

These threads should be locked down. We get cold and rain for 10 or 11 months a year and people constantly complain that there's no sun. I'm loving this warm spell.

Pay me and I would happily live in Ireland. Has to be in Galway tho. :)

I love the rain too! Massey's woods in good, it's the left just before the Hell Fire Club. There's a swing on one of the trees and my little one loves it up there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,358 ✭✭✭Aineoil

I live in West of Ireland....we didn't get much sun. We did get heat and humidity.

I got a load of washing done and dried. What's not to love?

Our weather is so bleak usually......I just love any good weather....I get to wear my sunglasses.

I do possess umbrellas ...but I never seem to have one at hand when I need one.

Now if you were an Irish person of sound mind you would invest in a very good quality rain coat.

I don't even possess a rain coat. But I do have sunglasses.

I can see clearly now, the rain has gone.
I can see all obstacles in my way.
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind.
    It's gonna be a bright sunshiney day. . .

Sunny days are great, but when you're stuck in an office with poor air conditioning for eight-and-a-half-hours a day with the sun shining in through the large windows on hot days like the last few days, things can be rather unpleasant. Or, like now, it's getting dark, but I'm still sweltering. It can be so hard to find a cold spot in the bed at night, so sleep is affected.

Let's not get carried away here. We're all half-crazed with the heat, but we'll get through this. We just need to keep calm and carry on.

All this moaning and whinging about heat and humidity . Then getting all excited because of rain on a hot day .
I'm no expert but I would imagine the humidity will be much higher after rainfall .

I hope ye get what you wish for.

You realise the thread isn't some kind of digital rain-dance that actually CAUSES it to rain, right? It's just a thread expressing an opinion you don't share?

Cycling in the rain comes with increased risks, has your bike got abs and asr (tcs)?

None of your fancy schmancy, my humble dutch bike has back pedal brakes so the rain has no bearing on brake function. Slippy pedals is all Ive to worry about.

You have no free wheel so though, can the bike accommodate pedal baskets or fit clip in pedals? no harm in suping it up.

I can't pedal backwards oh no.

Clips would be utterly pointless in a land of no hills. It's pretty suped up, I have 3 gears :P
