    Hi,
Besides going through City to Killester, can someone please recommend an alternative by road (car).
    Thanks,
    PB

East Link Bridge to East Wall to Clontarf to Killester. Very much doubt if it would be any quicker than going via town.

My thoughts as well, I don't see the M50 as a viable option from either a time or fuel economy perspective.

The other possible route is going through Ranelagh - Waterloo - Macken St. and going over the Samuel Beckett Bridge, though you may have already classed this as town.

I think it all depends at what time of they day the OP is planning on doing the journey at. If it is anywhere near rush or, peak commuter times, there is no way he can go, that won't involve sitting in traffic for considerable amounts of time.

Another option is to take the East Link Bridge or the Samuel Beckett bridge to the port tunnel and taking the tunnel to the first tunnel exit which is Santry. Then from Santry, it is a fairly short trip down Collins Avenue down to Killester Village. The tunnel charge is only 3 euros if you aren't going at peak times. It's a tenner if you are. Traffic could be heavy when he gets to Santry/Collins Ave though, as that is where the M1 starts and you will run into traffic getting to/from the motorway, as well as the airport.

Bus 15 to Malahide Road or cycling might make sense.

That seems mad - you are turning a counter-peak leg of the journey into a with-peak one **and** a toll needs to be paid.

I'm not turning anything into anything. I'm simply giving the OP another option of getting from A to B. He has not told us what day he is traveling on, what time of day he is traveling, whether it will be a once off trip or a daily commute, what part of Killester he needs to get to, or whether or not he is ok with paying a toll if it gets him there quicker. Given what little we have to go on, all we can do is just offer up what we know of the area and the roads & let the OP make his own mind up.
