Anyone ever looked at Kickstarter projects in terms of investment?

For instance, some artists will produce original artwork in return for a Kickstarter contribution by helping them get a studio residency etc. as with all investment in art it's risky to take a punt on an unknown artist, however you do get to display their work and know you contributed to help them move on with their career.

So has anyone used this site as investment or any experiences good or bad?

Nope, and I've backed a few kickstarters for the end product. You could try something like www.linkedfinance.com which has actual returns.
