Hi, I know this has most def been covered but I need help or an explanation with this and hopefully I will be able to work out from then on!!
So if I get goods delivered from china and incl delivery the come to say 70e (which is what will be on the docket) and would be getting delivered by courier (dhl) How do I work out what I could end up owing in regards to fee.....ie what is Vat and Customs and is there anything else I should be aware of.....
Also I have a parcel motel account, would it be worth getting it delivered to there or is there any benefit?

The actual effective limit is currently €26.08 on most items.
    2. Non-collection of Small Amounts of Import Charges
Where the customs duty on a consignment of goods amounts to less than €10 it will not be collected. Similarly, VAT liability amounting to less than or equal to €6 will not be collected. No similar rule applies in the case of excise duty which will always be collected if the goods are liable to excise duty.

This means a typical item like a DVD at a VAT rate of 23% has a working limit of €26.08 -since only items above this value will have VAT equal or above €6. This limit will change if the VAT % changes.

If you use parcel motel and there is any UK vat applicable they will just refuse to accept the parcel. I am not sure of the Uk cut off points. I would not recommend risking it.

You're being scammed, this particular one is very common.
