Just looking at the 1 o'clock TV News on RTE and they show footage which caused me to move to different part of the building to avoid it.

Why do they show this? Does it help the poor families involved in some way?

I presume you mean the two brothers who died in tragic circumstances? Yes its disgusting, as if that family hasn't gone through enough of an ordeal without the bloody media invading their privacy. I don't understand why funerals are even news, we don't need to know that stuff.

It is bad taste in my view. Do you think the family's permission would have been sought by RTE or whoever?

It's not as bad as showing a kardashian wedding.

Yeah, there can be something very crass about reporting on funerals. I remember during the funeral of those two little boys that were killed by their father about a year ago, the Independent started live-tweeting updates along the lines of 'the mother walks along behind the hearse, supported by friends'. As if it was a red carpet event or something.

Mawkish stuff. Were they expecting her to be on a unicycle in front of the hearse, supported by enemies?

It's not news viewing the "private" grief of a family. Tasteless and voyeuristic....

that's the indo for you.taking photos of distressed parents clutching photos of their kids at the scene of their death was just as crass.

I know in my town they've being a few funerals that the news wanted to cover. If the family requested them to stay away. They did.
