    Hi there

I was hoping someone might be able to help me.

I am going for a job interview for a health care assistant role with the hse
the salary scale is from 25,000-32,000, I am just qualified as a
social care worker and can't find work (does that count in terms of going up the scale?). Would I be starting at the lowest point in the scale as I have never worked for hse before??

    Many thanks!

Possibly they may start you at bottom of scale or they may take into account your qualification

However a fetac level 5 is minimum requirement.
In.this case you have social care but did they specify a social care requirement was necessary for this job?

I know of a person taken on.3 yrs ago hse he requested 17 euro per hour and got it.

    That was 3yrs ago
They wanted a male staff for a particular job.
He got it.had social care qualification too
It might not happen now thou

However you may start at the bottom of the scale and work up.

Have you experience outside your course?

Thanks for that I was thinking the same. I was going to go in with a midway figure between the highest and lowest, see what they would give me (have to get job first!!) :)

Well it's worth a try it depends on what they are looking for.
However money is an issue don't focus on it fully
do a good interview. and then see
