    Just wondering if anyone knows of any good learning resources for Perl. I'm getting a handle on Python as well. I ask as a new role I'm starting on Monday requires it.

    O'Reilly have a couple of really good books, beginners ( http://shop.oreilly.com/product/mobile/9780596520113.do )

    and intermediate ( http://shop.oreilly.com/product/mobile/9780596102067.do ) willl get you started.

    Perlmonks for any questions you get stuck. I used these resources myself when I was thrown into a role that required it, it's handy enough if you have any programming background.
