Parent's Eircom Account

    I understand and appreciate that you cannot go into details of my parent's account with me, however I was looking through it the other evening and I was startled to see that it was €50 on average a month for the past few months.

    I do know that the Social Welfare Allowance was removed and they are now subject to the full line rental charge.

    I see from the bill that they are being charged for handset rental. The handset in question in never used and a cordless handset is always used. Is there a process available to return this handset and have this charge discontinued.

    Finally, since the removal of the household benefit scheme, has Eircom introduced any discounts or intensives for AOPs?

    Thanks

    [font=Times New Roman","serif]Hi impega1

    There are indeed a few options for people in your parents circumstances and I can also confirm that the handset rental can indeed be removed.

    To explore options on a cheaper plans please contact our customer loyalty team on free phone 1901 - the loyalty team will also be able to remove the handset rental charge :)

    If you want to call to explore the options you are welcome to do so but just make sure to have your parents beside you to confirm that they permit you to discuss their account.

    Thanks
