Have an ouya arriving later. My drop box is loaded with apks to sideload. Usb external drive formatted to fat32 with content for the apks.

Does anyone else have one and if so can you recommend a few games? I've seen dub wars and deadly towers on a friend's but didn't like quite a few games.

Will have WiFi access (admittedly quite slow in hospital) so can get a few.

Will you be putting Robert Broglia's .emu emulators on it?

The best emulators on android imo, and mame4droid would be nice to have on it also.

I've got one, rubbish for most games really but the emulators work well on it. Joypad isnt great but you can hook up a ps3 one to it and use that. So still not a great joypad :D

can't be too upset with it being rubbish. its only strong enough for android anyway. probably more powerful than most phones as it doesnt have to give up cpu useage to power the phones gui for phone or external screen etc. that ccan be turned off in settings aswell apparently to save on "juice". my mate has one and a load of games are sideloaded on his and works very well. dubwars and tower defence are very catchy. just wondering were there any better games since i was at his last. i won one on madbid for 3.48 + shipping on top so not a bad piece of kit for so cheap. Cost about 30 quid all in.

Well there's android ports of Vice City and Broken Sword and a few other classics. They're *just about* playable on a phone or tablet, but I imagine they'd work great with a controller.

I'm seriously going to buy this for my Moto G real soon.

Its fairly new and only sold by that seller on eBay, unless its on some obscure Chinese site.

I prefer it as some of the other gameklips use suction, and others are basically a cover for your phone attached to it, with this you can slap practically any phone into it without needing to put inside a cover.

The middle square bit isn't the prettiest looking thing but its very practical.

Looks like its been on DX since March and went virtually undetected as theres not one single review or even rating which is strange.

For 6 dollars it's a steal, I'd nearly buy it for the price and buy a second one from the eBay link to get it faster!

Found it on amazon for £4.14 with free shipping to the UK.

Add parcel motel's new fee the total cost is just under €9.20.

If I see any better deals I'll post them in the Online auctions and bargain links thread to save me spamming this thread, a triple post is bad enough!

Hi all. im using the ouya primerally for retro gaming and i have loooooaaaaaaaads of emulators setup. im planning on using nostalgia. because the ouya is android based i took it for granted id be able to hide the apps but this doesnt seem to be the case unless im mistking something. can anyone help me with this issue. id like to hide the emulators and just use nostalgia on the main play screen.

if all else fails ill stick cygenamod on it but would like to leave the original gui on it for now.

    Both Ouya threads merged.
Not really sure if the Ouya is suitable for discussion here tbh, it's neither Arcade or Retro.

I've been looking at an Ouya as well for the retro gaming function.

Anyone got any feedback on how well newer console emulators function, particularly Dreamcast and Gamecube?

It looks like older stuff such as SNES and Mega Drive function perfectly and even the N64 looks great in HD.

Lads, you should get the Gamesome Frontend app it's awesome!

Its a really simple frontend for android emulators and it's free.

It downloads the cover art and basic info of each game also.

Unfortunately mame4droid isn't supported because the Mame4droid developer denied the gamesome developer permission to integrate it, which is a real shame.
Or so the gamesome developer told me. It supports 3 other mame emulators though.

Theres an option to auto-create rom folders with the name of each platform in one single click of a button.

ive been using it losely for the dreamcast and ps1 since this morning. ps1 is up and flying with everything ive used. dreamcast you need to get the bios and flash and put them in a folder. then you need to tinker with controls to get the screen res ok that it will output. i used crazy taxi as my test game. everything ive tried since works aces! thumbs up.

im running all the emulators through Nostalgia as you can even import that into xmbc

im only using it for arcade emulators and other retro emulators if that counts and xmbc the od time to watch retrotv etc.

seems like the majority of people are doing the same.

ive everyting singing off an external drive at them moment.

will post pics later... very happy with setup.

That nostalgia app looks awesome, haven't seen it before!

Does it only run on the Ouya or can you run it on other android devices too?

All i see in the playstore are the nostalgia emulators.

I'm only using the gamesome frontend on my phone really, and it works great for that.

only seen nostalgia on the ouya i think. have a look for the apk online. its surely out there. i know retroarch can be used as an all in one emulator for retro stuff on phones and tablets etc. its on the ouya also but needs a lot of configuring.

pm me if you want and ill give you the name of a few good apps and where to get them.

Discovered an app today called Ouya Downloader on the Play Store that let's you download Nostalgia and pretty much any Ouya Games / Apps.

    Pretty sure its piracy though.
But it's one way of testing out Nostalgia without owning an Ouya, there's a good chance it will lead me to buying a Ouya soon as its just so much better for retro gaming than the cheap and cheerful Raspberry Pi, as good as the Pi is and all.

I think I mentioned before that there was no scanlines option in Mame4droid as opposed to Mame4ios.
I must have been blind or something as there are about 20 different presets for CRT emulation and they're actually really nice.

Its no HLSL crt emulation, but as good as it gets for something which doesn't use shaders.

    Definitely worth trying them out.
