    Hi All,

so my sister got a call and was offered a job in Lucan but she lives in Naas. iv been looking around online and it seems bus eireann have a bus which goes daily but the bus journey to and from work would be over 4 hours because it goes into town and back out on the way home with 2 changes. the bus in the morning goes directly to lucan but there is none direct to naas on the return trip.

is there any better way? iv tried JJ Kavanaghs but they dont do that route.

would a bus to newlands cross and then a dublin bus to lucan work?

    anyone any ideas?

    Cheers

"Lucan" covers a fairly wide area -- what part? There is a commuter rail service between Adamstown and Sallins.

There is no shuttle bus from Adamstown to Lucan Village and it's a very long walk. It might be possible to bring a bike on the train.

Best thing maybe is get a car. That journey would only take about 25 mins.

Apart from the single route 123 there is no direct link.

Go to www.a-b.ie and put in times and locations, and that will give you what options there are.

You can get a Kavanaghs bus from Naas to Clane, and vice versa, and connect with the Bus Eireann 120 which will leave you 10 mins walk from Lucan village, coming back you get the 120 at the Spa hotel to Clane and meet up with the Kavanaghs bus to Naas.

according to the Transport Planner website the best option to Lucan would be a 123 Bus Eireann via Clane and Celbridge to The Spa Hotel with a 10-15 min walk to the village (or get on a 66 or 67)

Likewise you could get off the 123 in celbridge and get a 67 to Lucan village

If feasible, Getting a train to Adamstown and then cycling could be a good option

Going home is a difficulty and going into town as far as Hueston and then getting a bus or train seem to be best (journey times vary between 1hour 10 mins and 1 hour 30 mins)
