    Hi everybody,

I'm currently in the retail industry for almost 6 years but i have an accounting background. I'm doing a BA Accounting & Finance on a part-time basis at the moment. I would like to know how to get a job in the field with no formal experience in the last 6 years. I was thinking to do a Sage 50 accounts for the practical side, will this help?or there better ways to get into the field?

    thanks

Or would an internship be an option?

Are you looking at professional exams?

Accountants generally start as a trainee with a practice and train for 3 years while doing their exams. Have you applied for any trainee jobs.

Yes, Im considering to do the 5 last of the ACCA papers at the end of my degree. Trainee jobs might be a good start.
