Wrong conviction dates on Garda vetting form

    Hi

Wondering if anyone could give some insight into an issue I have and perhaps clarify if indeed it is an issue. I was convicted of a charge in October 2012. However when my Garda vetting form was pulled by a member of probation , it said date of conviction was October 2010. Is this cause for concern ?
    Thanks in advance

Would October 2010 be the date of the offence as opposed to the date of the conviction?

The greater the time frame between today and your conviction the better I'd say

No the offence was actually 2004 ! But spent a lot of time through the courts . Ideally I'd love to be able to declare the conviction date as October 2010 but that's probably illegal ?!! Or wishful thinking . The problem is that I'm soon to fill out a Garda vetting form for a course I'm doing and if I declare 2012 but form comes back 2010 where does that leave me ..

    It's simple (in theory)
    • Declare the correct date any form you fill in.
    • Obtain proof of the correct date, the clerk of the court should be able to assist.
    • Write to the Garda Vetting office to inform them of the error
