Need Help Choosing A Savings Account

    Hi,

I have a current account with Bank Of Ireland and I'm looking to setup a savings account. I'm getting married next year so any savings I amass by then will have to be used but I thought it would be a good idea to start building up a history of regular saving now.

I'm not really doing this for the interest - more so to build up a regular savings pattern. Is the online savings account a good option or maybe a demand deposit account? Ideally I'd like an account that took a direct debit weekly/fortnightly/monthly but also allowed me to manually add additional funds as and when I pleased? Is this possible?

Are there any accounts that take a weekly direct debit?

    Thanks in advance.
