Should Ireland take in Israeli refugees if Israel is destroyed?

Tel Aviv airport has been closed effectively cutting off much of Israel by air from the outside world due to Hamas rocket fire.

Hamas have made no secret that they are opposed to any peace and want to destroy Israel and kill all the Jews.

In the past Saladin invaded the Christian states in what are now Lebanon and Israel and Palestine and put the European Christian peasant settlers to the sword or enslaved them while the Crusader nobility bought their way back to Europe.

In 1967 and 1973 the Arabs tried to invade and destroy Israel with the intention to massacre the Jewish Israelis.

So if an Arab army in the future rises up and overwhelms the Israelis and invades Israel and begins massacring the Jews, will Ireland take in Jewish refugees?

Or would we point and laugh as the Jews got their "just desserts"?

Given the lack of interest by the state and progressive groups in the destruction of the historical Christian communities across large swathes of the Middle East, it is highly unlikely that there would be much interest - especially unlikely given the professionalism of the IDF.

In future - the next time things kick off - they will presumably concentrate on the airport to prevent flights in and out wouldn't they?

i was thinking it earlier today, that if all the jewish people migrated to ireland after WW2, then how long would it have taken for ireland to be united and have a real air force and iron dome?

granted, all the indigenous irish people would probably be living in achill too

Personally, I think refugees should be accomodated where ever it's possible.

Israel is not going to be destroyed though.

Well we couldn't be arsed taking in any Jewish refugees during the Holocaust, so probably not.

I was just thinking about Donegal the other day. Lovely scenery, but not a lot of great land I'd say. The islands are lovely though. What's your favourite of the little islands/peninsulas? I think mine might be Cruit.

Well I'm from up Inishowen direction. I'd say the nicest place in the world is Dunree beach/area up there.

Weirdo nonsense? Earlier today I watched a video which showed an injured and defenseless Palestinian lying on the ground being executed by an IDF sniper. Apartheid isn't nonsense. Butchering women, children, the elderly and the disabled isn't nonsense. Intentionally placing them on starvation diets to make them suffer isn't nonsense. Land theft and home destruction isn't nonsense. Torturing women and children isn't nonsense. Laying siege to an entire population for decades isn't nonsense.

What is nonsense is the very idea that any "Arab" army would come out of nowhere and start massacring Jews. Israel is tied at the hip with the brutal Military coup government in Egypt and unofficially with their Wahabbi brothers in Saudi Arabia

Not that anyone is I think but no one should ever wish for the destruction of Israel. and not just because of the obvious reason that's it's a horrible thing to think of destroying a people. but because if it ever looks remotely like happening they will take the rest of us with them. it troubles me that they are a nuclear power it really does for all sorts of reasons.
