I have been trying to ring revenue about this for a few days, seems impossible to get through on the break I have :(

Left an old job a few weeks ago and still haven't recieved p45 from my old employer.. I called tax office and gave them the reg number of new employer, and they said they would send a tax credit cert to both me and my employer.

I haven't received it. When i got paid I was charged double usc and also waaaay more tax than I would usually have paid.

What can I do to fix this? It didn't say 'E' on the tax part of my payslip, it said 'N'.

    thanks

Hi my employer also hasn't given me a P45, I've been in touch with the relevant authorities and they've said my contributions have all been paid, and the Revenue said they've sent a letter out asking for my P45. So my ex employer is just being a giant ****.

I've got a few job interviews lined up, if I get a job and have no P45, how do I try and minimise the amount of emergency tax I'd be paying?

You provide Revenue with your new employer's details, start date etc. Revenue issue a tax credit cert to the new employer on a "week one basis" which avoids emergency tax. When you get the P45, submit it to Revenue to be put on the "cumulative basis" If you are still having problems getting your P45, then let Revenue know.
