Vaccines against blood borne pathogens

I've started working in a tattoo shop and since there'll be fresh blood and needles around, I want to get vaccinated against anything I might come into contact with. Hepatitis A and B are the obvious ones, but are there any others? I think I might just get everything that's recommended for healthcare professionals, even though I'm not one. I'm not exactly sure what I have to date because my mam became a member of the of the anti-vaccination brigade when I was young (maybe 5 or 6?) and I don't know who our GP was so I can't ask.

And is there anywhere you'd recommend going for them in north Wicklow/Dublin?

    Thanks

Mod note, medical advice is not allowed but will allow a general discussion on vaccines for certain professions, recommendations and requirements (ideally supported with references).

You could contact your local HSE office give your name and PPS number - they should be able to find out information for you regarding what vaccinations you might have had which were covered by immunisation schemes, explaining you don't know who the GP was might sound a little fishy though

Might be worth doing some research on vaccinations and having a chat with your mum, I know in countries with regulated tattoo parlours they have regs on sterilisation of instruments needles etc and also good practice guidelines on staff vaccination in relation to blood borne pathogens

One other option would be your current GP or the tropical medical bureau , generally they deal in vaccination for travellers to other countries but are a wealth on information on immunisation

The Hep B vaccine would be the most pertinent as you're aware Hep B can be acquired from occupational blood exposure. It's usually provided in a 3 course dose that will usually impart lifelong immunity, though i think there is also a faster combined vaccine for both it and Hep A. However Hep A on the other hand is transmitted via the fecal-oral route and therefore not likely to be a risk factor.

As regards not being aware of the vaccines you've received (if any), A GP can take some bloods and have your status assessed relatively easily and then offer the appropriate vaccines if necessary.
