So....i just discovered I am owed back 20% of my premium paid for medical insurance from the tax man, due to it being paid by my company for me...

Only problem is I can only claim last 4 years according to the form. Anyone know if there is a way to claim for previous 3 years, its not huge money but prob 600-700 euro and could do with it!

    Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately not. The 4 year rule is quite strict it would seem.

Are you sure you are owed the money by the taxman and not the other way around ?

I have had employers who paid my medical insurance premium and I had to pay benefit in kind tax of 20%. The tax relief is at source so I never see it as it's factored into the premium but I have had to pay the tax myself sometimes when it wasn't deducted automatically.

Make sure you know for sure before you wake the sleeping dog :)
