It's my fathers car. He's replaced the air flow meter 3 times but it keeps going. He is looking to find out if he needs a computer to attach to the car to make it work. In his words the car keeps chugging.

I had a look at google but I couldn't find too much about installing them. But it was a quick look, I'm on someone else's laptop and I've to go down now.

What type of car is it, what year is it, and is it petrol or diesel? Have any lights come on in the dash in conjunction with the air flow metre going? How did he know it needed replacing

It's a 99 petrol opel corsa. The engine light did come on and i don't know how he knew that it was the air flow meter, i'm guessing he hooked it up to a computer. I did find something about some code that's sometimes needed and stuff about cracks and holes and he seemed satisfied with that info

    The car still isn't fixed.
He checked for holes or cracks but found none. He's already bought two second hand airflow meters and the problem is still happening.
