I'm planning on flying on EI3273 from BHX to Dublin arriving at 17.05 with a checked bag and travelling on to BE6796 to Donegal departing at 18.35 and checking in at desk. Is this connection to short or is it actually doable?

Perfectly fine once the inbound is early/on-time, follow the corridor for flight connections upon arrival. More than likely you'll be disembarking at Pier 3 (although you could also disembark at Pier 4), from there it's a short enough walk to Pier 2.

My reading of the OP's post says that his bag won't be checked through.

Half asleep ha, still plenty of time for a domestic - Wouldn't view it as a bad connection once the inbound is on-time.

That connection involves a terminal change at Dublin but it's only a short walk. Last time I flew domestic, all domestic passengers were allowed use the Express security lanes in Dublin which should save a few minutes.

As per above OP, you will arrive into T2. Once you have collected your bag, proceed through customs.

Once you have arrived landside, take a hard left turn and to the left you should see the walkway to T1 which takes you to departures level. The walk from T2 to T1 is only 5 minutes.
