    Hi,

For some reason I have lost a bolt for attaching my Bontrager rack to my Giant Defy 3. Its an allen key bolt that attaches to the frame under the seat post.

Does anyone know where I could pick up a replacement bolt and washer? Are they standard?

    Thanks

Looks to be either an M5 or M6 (takes a 5mm allen key) and ~ 14mm long. Is this a standard thing? Should I get a replacement in my LBS or am I better off going into a DIY shop?

It's usually M5, standard bolt. A bike shop may just give you a spare bolt or else any hardware store has them by the bucketload - in mild steel as opposed to stainless though.

I might have one of these at home, I will check this evening and post it to you if I do. I'll let you know tomorrow.

Recently, my headset became loose and I rounded the hex head. I took it out, brought it to LBS and they just gave me one, FOC. So, try asking in an LBS, if they charge you for it, it will be max €1 i'd say.

Good first post under my new username :)

I have 2 here that the overall length is 17mm, the thread diameter is 4mm and they are round head as opposed to the socket headed cap screw in the pic. I dont think this would make a difference. Also, you would need to find washers, which should be easy enough.

If you want me to post them to you, PM your address.
