Ye Olde Mansion Ruin

Folks,

When you go through Naul and head out into the countryside there is a quite impressive ruin of what looks like an old mansion in a farmers field bay an area called Westown. It's just off of the R122:

Does anyone know of the history? It looks somewhat unusual in that it's smack bang in the middle of a field, no road leading up to it, no sign of a garden etc. I'd just like to know a little more about the history of the building/area.

It was actually up for sale lately. I can't seem to find the listing so it must have been sold or withdrawn.

Funny you mentioned it. I've been cycling out that way for a few years now and never noticed it till this weekend! was thinking of putting up a question on here about it, but you beat me to it.
