    Hi all,

I am starting a new PAYE job next week, after spending the last 2 years sole trading part-time and educating myself further.

I received a p45 in May 2012, and have been registered for income tax (not VAT) since June 2012. Have already filed returns for 2012, 2013 and preliminary tax for 2014.

I have just filled in the form 'TRCN1 - Tax registration cancellation notification' and posted off to Revenue.

Revenue say that I must re-register for PAYE when I start the new job, by phining their 1890 number with my the Employers registration number. The sooner I do that, the better as I will avoid emergency tax.

My question is this: Once I have done that, is that it? Do I need to give my new Employer my P45 from the last time I left PAYE?

No, a P45 is only relevant for the year it's issued. Just do as they told you and that's it. Apart from filing a Form 11 for 2014 before 31/10/2015.

will I need to ask Revenue to send me out my tax credit certificate in long form, and get them to send a short form to my new employer?

Its automatically done when you register your new employment with Revenue. Employers receive tax credit certs electronically now.
You will receive a paper copy for your records or electronically to your PAYE Anytime account if you ticked the box to receive correspondence electronically.
