Unfortunately for tillage boys can't see straw been dear as there is ample fodder in yards and in a lot of cases some left in shed since last year.my guess 10/12 euro for round bales of barley with wheat and oats simillar or maby less.could be a year to chop and incorporate some back Into ground.

We use to pay 10quid per round bale from the neighbours field, went up to 12e last year. Whether it will come back down again I don't know. I wont be in a huge rush to fill the shed with it anyways, will probably only get 70bales or so, as shed space is limited here, esp during feb. I'll take the gamble and aim to buy afew more bales then if needs be.

What's the baling cost? I'd take hand and all if I could get straw down here for 5.50 a bale plus baling cost

How does an 8*3*3 bale compare to a standard 4×4 round bale for the volume of straw in it.

Hard to know. Unless you weigh. Those squares can be packed fair tight

We use OCR straws as a base in the sheds and find it great for drainage.
OH got prices yesterday for barley of €8 4x4 and €21 8x4x3 collected.
