Car Valet - Cork City - Inside & Out

Some of the search results are quite old so sorry for the lazy post. Can anyone recommend a valet service in Cork (and price if possible)?

From searching the site I can find:

Valetmaster & D&D Valeting but they're in old posts.

Are these still recommended? Any new recommendations would be great. Have my wedding coming up and want the car spotless!

    Thanks,

    KNS

D&D seem like a decent crowd.
Work looks good from fb and are good to deal with.

Happy to second D&D. They did my Viano just last week and it came back looking fantastic! Absolutely spotless inside and out, even the roof which requires working from a ladder (1.9m). And really nice guys too!

Another D&D supporter here, they did a wash and wax on my Volvo a few months ago and did a great job. Going back for a full detail very soon now.

I wouldn't give my car to one of those heathens if you paid me. Since of them still use sponges, which is a serious no-no unless you actually like swirls in your paint

OP where do you live exactly. Are you in the city or outside it?

Bit harsh dont you think? they are just trying to make a living. it is not like they go off to car wash university and learn the art of using a sponge. not on the tips they get anyway. if at all, because they are using sponges, which apparently is wrong?

in your expert opinion, how would one go about washing ones car without ones sponge?

You never use a sponge. Take a walk around any car park at night (or a car parked in direct sunlight) and you'll see why. Swirl marks everywhere (damaged paint). This is caused by a brush wash or a sponge, the sponge traps tiny pieces of grit on its surface and moves them around the paint, causing tiny little scratches to the paint, making it appear dull.

What any person who washes their car should be using is a microfibre wash mit, as the dirt doesn't stay at the surface.

You should also use two buckets, one with a pH neutral shampoo so that it doesn't strip protection such as wax, the other is the rinse bucket. Before returning to the suds bucket, you rinse your microfibre mit in the rinse bucket, meaning that your not putting dirty water back on your car.
Finish off with a quick hose down and then dry with a microfibre drying towel.

They might be trying to make a living, but they won't be getting any support from me and neither would I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good car wash. Why would I recommend someone who would damage your paint?

The odd time I get the car done when in Cork I used Crystal Clean / Pro Valet in the Mahon SC. Cheap and do an excellent job.

Called into D&D with herself yesterday and have to say I am well impressed. I had waxed her the last day but the rain started and it all went wrong from there, The two Dareens had her sparkling.. Very honest and lovely to deal with
