Route planning help - Belfast to Galway

Hi guys, can anyone recommend a route between belfast and galway, and somewhere to stay overnight a little more than halfway (no way will I be able to do it in one day!). The current plan is just to head out the road and keep going til I'm wrecked and hopefully find a B&B or something along the way. It'd probably be better…

Hi guys,

I've never gone direct between galway and belfast, I've only been to belfast going from dublin in the past.

Armagh Cavan Longford Athlone then the old N6 .overnight in Longford .looks fairly oK,

Dundalk -Mullingar maybe but N52 is iffy.
