Anyone know if it is possible to do a tour of the top gear studio... I.e. If we flew into Gatwick for the day and just took a chance on driving to Dunsfold to see the studio and track - are there any tours available. I applied for tickets online, but not optimistic of getting any, so was just wondering if they did studio tours.

    Thanks

To the best of my knowledge, Dunsfold is not a "tourist attraction" in any sense. The airfield is off-limits to the public for commercial and safety reasons, the "studio" is a mostly-empty shed, there are no exhibits, there isn't even a gift shop.

Here's something; you can now buy a Top Gear Track Experience. Fancy taking the Kia Cee'd around the track? You can have a lap with The Stig - or A Stig, since one bloke in a full-face helmet looks pretty much like any other. :pac:

Ill bring this back from the dead. A few years ago i was involved in an event that was shot in their studio (not top gear related). There isn't much to tour as said before. Getting my photo taken with the big spay painted Top Gear log was pretty much the highlight but I did bag myself a script for the show though...

There were sports cars driving around the runway but I got the impression it was nothing to do with Top Gear. There are some cool aircraft permanently parked on the runway verges.

Crappy videos I shot just outside the studio/hanger"

    What I was there for:

    Terrible photo with the logo:

And strangly (kinda) they only use about 1/3 of the hanger the othe 2/3 has pallets of stuff stacked for storage unrelated to them:

And better photo of the big logo:
