    Hi,

I'm about to start looking for a mortgage for an Irish property.

I have a UK & Irish bank account although I don't use the Irish one much. My earnings are in the UK where I live.

Do I apply for a mortgage for an Irish place through a UK or Irish lender?

    Many thanks in advance.

Given your circumstances, probably neither. Despite internationalisation, secured loans such as for property are usually only available in the country in which the property is situate. Equally, an Irish bank is going to be very cautious in lending on mortgage terms to someone working abroad - unless you mean you are a cross border worker (travelling from Louthto Down everyday) or a tele worker (eg IT consultant contracting with overseas clients).
