    1. what gives you a nice green lawn?

is it the cutting or the water or the fertilizer?

    2. and what's the most economical way to bring up a big lawn?

is there anything cheaper than the 3-in-1 stuff?

    thanks

A combination of cutting, watering and frrtilser will give you a good lawn. To make it green, you'd have to fertilse it and water it after!

The cheapest fertiliser i find is lawn sand! It's a mix of sulphate of ammonia and iron, does a right job!

What's the size of the garden?

Sulphate of iron should be used from october till march. A bag of 14-6-8 would cost around €30 and it'll treat around 300sq mtrs handy enough

Scarify and aerating makes a massive difference.

Sulphate of iron can be used all year round, if you mixed it yourself with dried sand it would be cheaper again. A bag of lawn sand is around 20 euro!

I have a bag of SOI
stained a good bit of concrete with it, does it go away after a few years?

Yeah it goes away after a while, I have the same problem, bits get spread onto the patio. It'll only be little specks of it though.

Is the sulphate of iron mixed with anything?
