Suggest a car for 5 adults? (Bought a Nissan Leaf)

I'm looking to replace the wife's car, which is effectively the family car. It will be occasionally be used for a family of five (3 teenagers/early 20s, none terribly big). We want to trade down from a seven seater which is beyond our requirements

The wife wants a car that will accommodate us all without squabbling, while I'm focused on value for money and a limited budget

I'm looking for something no older than 131, in a diesel

The Renault Scenic seems to be a good fit with three good seats in the back, but price is a bit steep and reviews seem mixed. Qashqai and 3008 are just as pricey and probably have less room.

Any recommendations for anything a bit cheaper? I'm happy to compromise on the rear space a little (even if the wife might not)

Perhaps a bit big for the occasional times we need this for the entire family

Most medium to large cars will take 5 occasionally.

I had 5 adults in a Golf and Focus many times.

A Ford Mondeo will easily take 5 adults occasionally, cheap enough these days especially if you are open to shopping in the UK.

How about a new Dacia Duster?

As long as it's the new model. The old model is pokey in the back.

Saw one of them today. . While they have reasonable space, they are awfully cheap construction. I was afraid the door handle would break in my hand..

Well for some unexpected reason the wife decided she liked the Nissan Leaf, so we are now the proud owners of a 142 D

Well done, takes plenty of balls to go electric. Thought about it myself for a long time.

Keep us updated on how you are finding it.

Neighbour has had one for about a year now, they haven't said a bad word about it. I hated the look of it at first but it's grown on me since.

    Happy motoring. :)
