Not sure if this is the right forum..I live in an quiet hosing estate not too far from Dublin Airport. Im off on a weeks holiday next week and was wondering if people think it would be safer to leave the car parked on the street outside the house and get a taxi to and from the airport or to leave it in one of the airports car parks (It would cost the same pretty much)? I usually park it on the street outside the house, and nothing has happened to it so far, but sometimes if someone parks right opposite it makes the road very tight and cars have been clipped in the past. Also, do people think that a car parked outside a house would deter a burglar?

I'd taxi it if I was you if the prices are on a par with each other. Airport car parks are infamous for thieves and are certainly not safer than parking on your street. Also, when using airport car parking areas you need to leave up to 45 minutes to allow for from finding a space in a car park to getting the transfer bus to actually getting to the airport door (It can take that long, especially if it takes you a while to find a space or free car park.) whereas a taxi is door to door and a time saver.

Your taxi journey back from the airport won't be at all pleasant.

I live in Swords and get this sometimes. It's easy to ignore.

OP, leave the car and get a taxi. I take it you've not got an off-street parking option.

Probably just grab the taxi at the back of the rank when you come back.

I leave the car at home. I live about 6km from the airport and it has always been cheaper to leave the car along with the added bonus of taxis being outside the arrivals hall as opposed to having to get the bus to one of the long term carparks.

Good parts taken, replaced with cheap aftermarket stuff.
