So as I said in the title I am looking to build a computer, primarily for gaming and video editing.

As am I unfamiliar to building computers, I would appreciate if someone could recommend some parts to choose.

    Thanks

    1. What is your budget? 400 euro roughly

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming/Video editing

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Yes

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No

    5. Do you need a monitor? No

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? I believe will check 1920x1080

    6. Do you need any of peripherals? No

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Probably not

First of, you're not going to put together a decent gaming rig for that budget. Best you can hope for is something that'll just 'run' modern games at low settings.

If I were you and was starting from scratch. I'd pick up a decent motherboard from Dabs (100-150e) and spend the remaining funds on the cheapest components (second hand from adverts if needs be) that'll finish off your build.

Then save and buy a decent quality....

    Graphics card
    Memory
    Processor
    SSD hard drive

    ... in that order.

    Best of luck

Possibly the worst advice i ever seen on this forum. A 40 euro motherboard will do you grand along with a 450w powersupply on your budget. You can get a gaming pc that runs games on
high to ultra for 400 but not if you need a copy of windows. Can you source windows from somewhere else or use the three months free trial?

You are in the bracket of fx6300/I3 build with a 260x. Ill spec up a build shortly

^ Not bad, but I'd swap to a H81/G3258 build. Beats the i3 in almost everything, and keeps up with a 4670 (at stock) in most games as well once OCed.

Also, I'd probably switch to a 750 Ti as well. Depending on what the budget looks like after that, maybe try squeeze in 8GB of RAM.

    Savage processor for the price!

Oh really, I didn't realize Windows would be such a big factor price wise but after looking at it would it seems to be around 100 euro for windows 7 home premium, if that right?
