Revenue made up a value of my stuff

Hey guys apologies if you see a million of these threads a day which I suspect you probably do but I find myself in a predicament and need a fairly fast answer. I bought an iphone stand from US for which I paid 24.99USD for the item and 20USD for the shipping.

Now when DHL came today they wanted just over 27euro in payment. 10er for them and the rest for revenue. I asked where the hell they got 21% of 24.99USD = 17 euro from, to which they reply, the seller never fixed the postage cost to the box so a value of over 80USD total was assigned to the item which is where they pulled that value from.

Now I have got stuff from china before by customs and I sent on my paypal receipt and it was all happy days. Apparently I cant do that in this situation as apparently the price is "the price".

I refused the parcel at the door today as I want to get an idea off you all how to proceed is there anything I can do, I know I will have to pay something but they can piss rightly off looking for 27 euro. Do I have any comeback anywhere?

if you have an invoice showing the correct shipping cost you do. But you will probably have to pay the charge first and then contest it with customs.

well either you pay it now and contest it later or the shipment gets sent back. Up to you.

VAT is 23% and is on the shipping price too.

Avoid DHL in future if you can. Its likely this would have gone through uncharged with an post.

I had the same issue today, where apparently revenue came up with a value of $60 for shipment instead of $25 because it wasn't on the package.. I did pay for it, anybody how to contest the charge ?
