Breeding strategy

OK, time to get my act together and sort out my breeding for this year. I have about 30 ewes and need to lamb in two lots due to space restrictions in the shed.

I dont want to spend too much money but think I'll need two rams in case of problems. What would ye do? An older ram and a ram lamb? Two ram lambs maybe? I have a pbnr llyen flock and think I'll stick to the llyens as they lambed really well for me this year.

Maybe Group 1 in October with Ram 1
Then Group 2 in November with Ram 2
Then switch the rams for the rest of the winter?

    Thanks

    i wouldn't get 2 rams for 30 ewes.

If you need to split it. put him in with 15 then take him out for a few weeks then put him in with them all.
Use raddle and you'll know if he's not good. Chances he'll fine though.

Just trying to avoid the nightmare scenario where for some reason I have an infertile ram and end up sitting around like an eejit waiting for the lambs in March....
