    Hi All,

Recently my wife and myself bought a new car and sold our 2 older bangers. We had seperate insurance policies for both cars but now obviouslly we have one. I am the main person on the insurance and she is a named driver. The question I have is if we do return to having 2 cars in the future will her insurance be very expensive because she won't have no claims years built up or do insurance take in the fact that she is a named driver these days?

    Thanks

    Stevensi

NCB expires after 2 years of non-use. Named driver does not keep this active.

If you alternate who is the policyholder (main driver) each year, you will be fine and both maintain your NCB.

Yes it's possible :) However, you will have to change ownership of the car each year to the main driver.

Not if they are married they wont.

Exactly. Married couples have insurable interest in shared assets, hence can take out an insurance policy on vehicles in the others name.
