A tad bit unfair towards the op in my opinion. Life owes nobody a living and if this guy has spotted a gap in the market that might give him some work for even a few weeks and potentially lead to a more permanent situation i don't see any reason why he shouldn't be given proper advice and not bull**** like this.

From my experience when you get a notification telling you somebody replied to your thread on the work and jobs forum you generally think somebody has the kindness to reply and give some decent feedback but yet the op has to come here and look at this crap that you have posted.

Don't personally know of the agency/agencies but somebody else might be able to help.

Maybe unfair to the op. But a less than helpful response online is nothing compared to the treatment of scabs in the real world. OP, I wouldn't chase this post in these circumstances as it is the kind of thing that is hard to live down.

its unfortunate what has happened but they are looking for temporary staff so people are going to apply. i hope none of you ever get let go and are suddenly struggling.

I've done some heavy cleaning in this thread; while it's a very emotional situation that does not mean the charter is not in effect. Specifically this part is what should be kept in mind:

    4. Personal Attacks/Abuse.
Please keep things civil & amicable. The making of potentially defamatory, off topic, disruptive statements such as incitement of hatred, racism, sexism or violence is subject to alteration or deletion and an infraction. This includes making deliberately unhelpful posts.

If you can't discuss the topic with out name calling (i.e. scabs etc.) then don't post.

I won't use the big bad S word but i think "temporary workers" in a situation like this should look at the bigger picture. They will drive down the rates that the workers and trade unions have previously secured.

You should delete the whole thread if discussion is not allowed about these type of S word jobs.

You get the job...it gets nasty on the streets.

    http://www.herald.ie/news/striking-bin-staff-blocked-collectors-30440480.html

There are easier ways to earn a living. And this strike will be settled. Any "temporary staff" will be let go. Returning workers will demand that. That's as sure as day follows night.

OP, I sincerely wish you well in your job search but this is one that I would dodge like a bullet.

If a person doesn't want to work that's their choice. Stopping other people going about what is their legal right and telling someone who wants to engage in legal employment not to workisis a disgrace.
I've no sympathy for siptu. They cost me and 350 more people our jobs and forced my company into examinership due to their attitude.

Op if you want to work for greyhound I suggest you call their HR department on Monday morning.

    Discussion is allowed.
    Rudeness isn't.
If you cannot tell the difference (and you clearly can!), then don't post.

    Thank you.

Personally I agree with you - jobs like this, I would give a wide berth to. But I can totally understand that some people are desperate - and I believe in the laws of supply and demand.

    Dont do it OP.

It may impact your future employment prospects in unionised workplaces.
