    Hi All,

Just looking for some advice . We do about 10 k miles a year. Mostly driving around town and wife does a 15 km each way motorway drive to work. Occasional long trip about once a month . Due to children and dog we need an estate. Am I right in saying a diesel would be overkill for us and potentially lead to problems due to the type of driving we do.

After a lot of research I have nearly decided to import an avensis tourer 1.8 valvematic. Due to everyone loving diesels these cannot be got in Ireland. Do you think this car is a good option for us ? 153 co2 makes it 380 to tax . Not bad at all. I'm assuming this petrol toyota will be super reliable and last me a long time. Won't be interested in resale value as plan to keep it.
    All opinions welcome . Thanks

Keep in mind the FR-V was launched in 2004. They're not as modern as the Avensis. Don't get me wrong, they're a great car. I have a civic with the same 1.8 engine and its been A1

    Looking at a 2008 . A lot cheaper than 2010 avensis though !

Just be aware that the co2 motor tax on the petrol FR-V is €750.

    2010 one here asking €14k:

Yep saw that one but bit on the pricey side . Hoping the high tax will give me a bit of bargaining power !
