6:10pm Epsom - Echo Brava - I have been following this horse for quite a while and his last two runs over 1m 2f have been very frustrating in that he would certainly have won had it been 1 1/2 miles. He has won over 1 1/2 miles and will certainly stay the trip tonight, he's fit, the yard is in decent form and with a couple of front-runners in the field it looks like there will be pace in the race which will suit him.

9/1 is widely available and I think it's a decent each way shout.

    A few I like today.

    Killarney 2.30
2 in this race who I regularly back, Six Silver Lane and Hatton Cross. But the money seems to be for Six Silver Lane today and I'll lean with that one. A RF also incase.

    Brighton 3.05 Noverre To Go
Have being keeping an eye on this one lately, a win is coming soon and good support in the market could mean today could be that day. 2 NR's have fecked the price even more now. Backed it @ 4s. R4 coming my way if wins. Was backed from 5s into 11/4 before runners starting pulling out.

    Leopardstown 9.00
    Pale Mimosa
Will she run tonight? As many here will know has been pulled lately when we were on. Backed into 11/8 from 9/4. On form with her 3 1/2L 3rd to Leading Light, she should win this.

Can't see Pale Mimosa running if she's been taken out twice because of quick ground. I work overlooking the course and its been baking hot all day.

I'm only waiting for it to happen. She has ran on Good before is the thing I can't get with the ground. Half of her runs were on good. Won this time last year on good to firm.

They might have to run her, if the plan was to get a run ahead of Galway. Would be weary today.

2 seconds so far, had the forecasts and tricasts done in the Killarney race and always one outsider to mess it all up. Noverre To Go left it to late to get working.

Had peanuts e/w on Some Character in the first in Leopardstown @ 20s. Tipped him up here fto and was backed well that day but flopped. Other things went on behind the scenes that day also. And now tonight with it being only a 7 runner, the value is gone e/w. They aren't confident of much tonight and may have ran into 3rd but that's worth feck all now.

I like this. Think it can place here

    8pm Leopardstown

I don't think the favorite Blackstone is up to much. Thinking of taking him on with Seas Aria in a poor race Sea the Star's kids seem to be showing big improvement in their 2nd season.

Compton is an excellent price for the 20:25 Epsom. Used to be a very good handicap horse but sort of lost his way a bit in the last year but ran very well to finish second at Leicester a couple of weeks ago after a stint on the AW.

If he runs near that again today then he wins. 5/1 at the moment.

Also, I think someone fancied Oor Jock in the last few weeks. He runs again in the next at Leopardstown taking a slight drop in trip. Seems revitalised for Ado McGuinness and is going for a hat trick today. 10/3

Smullen "today's ground was perfect for her" yet withdrawn twice on account of quick going. Odd one

I know cant figure it out. Got word before and it was GF which she ran well on twice before and she got pulled.

Heard nothing about today, looked like she needed, could be a big bet next time out.

I lost €1700 today after work even backed Gary ob tip. The drink got to me any advice plus 600 on rouett to try win back

I read this and thought it was a wind up. I've circled back and upon reading a second time I'm not so sure. If your being serious and you lost that amount today that's hitting a wall. Plenty have done it and plenty more will. Step back and take a break from it unless your a muti millionaire with an endless supply of free money. Thats a potentially 10,000 a week habit. You could take a break from the ggs and buy a new car at that rate of punting within a week? You need to have a real conversation with yourself mate because that's bordering compulsive gambling.

    That's my advice.

I lost €1700 today after work even backed Gary ob tip. The drink got to me any advice plus 600 on rouett to try win back

Firstly, wait until the drink wears off before going near gambling. Drinking & gambling are not a good mix as your inhibitions are lowered and you are far more susceptible to making rash decisions.

Don't go chasing. Unfortunately, you've got to count that €1700 quid as gone as there is no quick fix. You'll more than likely end up in a bigger hole trying to earn your money back and, even if you do manage to strike it lucky this time and recoup that cash, if you find yourself in similar situations in the future you're inevitably going to lose.

The key to gambling is keeping disciplined. I'm sure we've all been guilty of indiscipline (I certainly have) at one time or another and given that its so hard to win money from bookies it's so, so easy to give it all back. Casino games are always in the favour of the house so try and avoid them. You've also got to ensure that you don't gamble beyond your means as betting can be very dangerous.

Realistically, the vast majority of punters will lose money over a year and the best way to look at is "how much am I comfortable losing". If you adopt this approach, at worst you've parted with an amount you were prepared to lose and if you win then great.

Gambling isn't for everyone and you've really got to consciously create a disciplined procedure that you follow rigidly. You've also got to put the hours in researching your bets if you stand any chance of consistent profits.

Also, you may wake up with a dirty hangover and feel like crap. Don't beat yourself up over it. This has happened to loads of people and will happen again. I over extended myself once , felt like shxt, and said never again. I have a limit now on what I spend and that's it. I am an opponent to online gambling(not sure if you lost it online?) as its a little bit false/clicking buttons. It's not real. So I stuck to shops for years after that as if you hand over your cash you really feel it if you lose. And I set my own annual limit and that's it. If i lose that, i dont really care as i could spend the same on golf membership and Im crap at golf. So do whatever it is that will suit you to stay within a limit or consider giving it a miss.

If you smoke too many cigarettes, you get a cough and will give them a break. If you drink too much you'll eventually fall over. With gambling, there is no limiter. You can gamble and gamble and bet the house in one sitting. That's what makes it very destructive and I'm sure it's only a matter of time before legislation steps in as online gambling has arrived in every living room around the country.

Try to learn from the mistake and move on. There was a good thread here from one of the regulars about his experience, you'll find it if you search. I think a lot of people read it and spoke from going through something exactly the same as you. You'll get over it mate but learn the lesson otherwise it will happen again. Hope my second attempt at advice was more helpful than my first.
