Does anyone have experience of negotiating a discount on approx. 4k worth of appliances?

Would some place like Currys be prepared to offer a discount or would I be better off sounding out some independents? Independents seem to be considerably more expensive than the large multinational retailers though.

I would love to hear from someone who has done this before or indeed if there are any retailers who are prepared to offer a deal please PM me (mods is this allowed?)

my advice would to be get a quote from the large multi nationals and then bring it to your local independent retailer they will more than likely match the price from 15 years of experience i can tell you the advice and after sales service you will get from the independents will be far better than the multi nationals and also quiet often when dealing with and independent you will be dealing with the owner of the shop and will be looked after better in the long run

    Hi,

I have been doing the same as yourself. My approach so far is to go to Harvey Norman, then Powercity, then DID, each showing them the bulk discounts the others are giving me and will they beat it, then I go back around and do the same. Getting good discounts so far. I would prefer to buy form independents too but I there are none nearby where I live.

I find powercity do the best deals an multiple buys. They also save your details and will offer more discounts throughout the years
