    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B00LEG7SPO/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

It's being sold by a new seller with no feedback. £225 excludes shipping.

I purchased earlier today when it said it was being sold by Amazon and not the third party. The price was higher and I paid £258

Price doesn't seem right, for that i think you are getting a tab pro not a tab s.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 474 ✭✭theroomisonfire

My order also says that it was sold by Amazon EU sarl.

I hope it is the tab s that arrives and not an older version by mistake. If they provide the wrong device, do you think amazon are obliged to replace it with the correct device or would they just be obliged to provide a refund.

Could be a lot of hassle if the wrong device arrives.

I agree about the price but the description and specifications all match that of the tab s

In the description in that link, it says "8.4 -inch LCD", strange as the Tab S has an AMOLED screen which isn't LCD at all..

I'm looking to get a Tab S but was gonna wait a month or so to let the price go down a bit..

That model number SM-T335NZWAITV is for the Galaxy Tab 4. The RRP for the Tab S LTE is going to be 499 euro.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 474 ✭✭theroomisonfire

My order should arrive on Thursday . Wonder what amazon will do if I complain that it is not the tab s? The listing leads one to belive that it is the tab s.

It's worth a punt anyway as Amazon might just fulfil the order regardless. Worst case scenario, it's very straightforward to return free of charge if the item wasn't as described. Good luck!

Thanks. The order is out for delivery this morning so I will update you later.

    But thanks for the update.
Amazon are very decent with refunds, just a pity it wasn't what you ordered..

Ah hell. Been watching this thread. I really fancy the new Tab S 8.4. Are they available yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 474 ✭✭theroomisonfire

Well Amazon are apologised for the mistake and say that they are now sending out a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. We will see what arrives!

Can you remember which store, by any chance?

The Samsung store in Dundrum which was formerly carphone warehouse

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,573 ✭✭✭✭yabadabado

I see its £283 now ,isn't that still a very good price especially if amazon will send out a replacement is you receive the wrong model.

Can you recall, were they selling it or was it just a demo?

There is a demo of both sizes. I asked if it was for sale and they said the 8.4 was eur399.

I would call them to double check they have it in stock before calling out there.

Available for 219£ at John Lewis

May be deliver with parcel motel.

Good price but as I said before, I have a funny feeling that the new one will not be the tab s with lte. I will wait and see. It's a lot of hassle really.

I think that's the TabPro, not the S tab, but maybe I'm wrong.

Has anyone else chanced ordering this from Amazon or is it just me?

Did the original poster buy it for £225, or £255?

Im confused a bit as he says two different prices.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 474 ✭✭theroomisonfire

Just checked and it was GBP244 when I ordered (excluding postage). Think I saw it for as low as GBP225 at one point yesterday.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 5,402 ✭✭✭Tinie

Going by camelcamelcamel, the lowest amazon has sold it for was £244 yesterday.

That was a marketplace seller then selling it for £225.

OK - yea the 244 is what I got it at

Yes indeed Tab S seems to have better CPU and RAM.
    Otherwise both are quite similar.

Hardly justifies a 45% price premium?

The main difference is the Super Amoled screen in the S.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 474 ✭✭theroomisonfire

Think there is also a difference in the weight and dimensions

Please let us know here how you find it. Think I'll go out and see if I can get to try one this morning.

€399 in both DID and Powercity ~ same price as JL. If you have AXA rewards card you can get 7% off in DID so brings down to €371, which isn't far off Amazon's current price (need to check if 7% applies to tablets)

Might nip down for a look at it later....much easier for me than going to Dundrum.

The 2nd package arrive, the replacement is still a Galaxy Tab 4

    Per Amazon:

    Item Under Review

This product is not currently offered by Amazon.co.uk because a customer recently told us that the item he or she received was not as described.
We are working to resolve this as quickly as possible. In the meantime, you may still find this product available from other sellers on this page.

I suppose the only way you can be sure is in the bricks and mortar shop.

Funny thing is that this tablet is on promotion now in Poland sold together with good quality headphones for absolutely same price even little cheaper 390 euro.they said headphones alone are worth around 100 euro

Played with one of these in Power City last night. It is lovely - great screen, very slim and 399 strikes me a a good enough price for the 8.4 screen. Seriously considering it, but my laptop died last night, so replacing that is more important!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 474 ✭✭theroomisonfire

The one drawback appears to be all the Samsung bloats are which reportedly slows down the tablets performance.

Install a custom ROM such as cyanogenmod which pretty much has a one click installer now - this will bring it back to androids raw form with some added features
